Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By accessing www.researchstake.com or any Research Stake study hosted on our subdomains, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. About our services

Research Stake LLC conducts market and consumer research in the United States on behalf of client organisations. We do not sell products or services to research participants, and participation in our research is never a purchase, an investment or an employment relationship.

3. Participant eligibility and conduct

• You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to join our panel.
• You must provide accurate information about yourself. Providing false information to qualify for a study is grounds for immediate removal and forfeiture of unpaid incentives.
• You may hold only one panel account. Duplicate accounts are removed.
• Study materials — concepts, prototypes, advertising and any client information shown to you — are confidential. You agree not to photograph, record, publish or discuss them outside the session.

4. Screening and selection

Joining the panel does not guarantee an invitation to a study, and completing a screener does not guarantee selection. Every study has a defined profile and a limited number of places. We will always tell you the compensation before you agree to take part.

5. Incentives

Compensation is stated in each study invitation and is issued within 5 to 10 business days of your participation being verified. Incentives are paid for completed participation; if you leave a session part-way through, we will pay a pro-rated amount at our reasonable discretion. You are responsible for any tax owed on incentives you receive.

Research Stake will never ask you to pay a fee, buy a product, or transfer money in order to take part in a study. Any message asking you to do so is not from us.

6. Client engagements

Research services for client organisations are governed by the separate written agreement, statement of work or proposal executed for that engagement. Where those documents conflict with these terms, those documents prevail.

7. Intellectual property

The content, design and marks on this website are owned by Research Stake LLC or its licensors. Research deliverables produced for a client are owned by that client as set out in the engagement agreement. Nothing on this site grants a licence to reproduce or republish its content without our written permission.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, study platforms or participant data.
• Use automated means to scrape, submit to, or interfere with this site or any study we host.
• Submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation to us or to any study.

9. Disclaimers

This website is provided on an “as is” basis. While we take care to keep it accurate, we make no warranty that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, and the general information published here does not constitute professional advice for your specific situation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Research Stake LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Third-party links

This site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts located in Dallas County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
