About Research Stake
A research firm built around one uncomfortable fact.
A large share of the survey data circulating in business today comes from people who are not who they claim to be. We started Research Stake to run studies where that is not true — and to be able to prove it.
- Studies fielded since 2016
- 1,400+

Our story
We kept being handed research nobody could defend.
Research Stake was founded by researchers who had spent years inside brand and insights teams, watching the same pattern repeat: a study lands, a decision gets made, and six months later nobody can explain why the market behaved differently from the data.
Almost every time, the failure was upstream. The sample was wrong. The screener let the wrong people through. The questionnaire asked a question respondents could not honestly answer. By the time the deck was built, the problem was invisible — and the confidence was already priced in.
So we built the firm around the unglamorous part. We verify participants before they qualify. We pilot instruments before we field them. We code qualitative data twice, independently, and reconcile the difference. And we keep every disposition, every screener path and every data cut, so you can audit any number we hand you.
Today we run qualitative and quantitative programmes for brands across eight sectors and all 50 states, from our base in Dallas. We work in one market on purpose — the US — because a panel you can genuinely vouch for is built market by market, not bought by the country. The work is not flashy. It is just research you can actually stand behind.

How we work
Four positions we hold, including the inconvenient ones.
We will tell you not to run the study
If the decision is already made, if the data you need already exists, or if the budget cannot support a sample that would actually settle the question — we say so. A study that cannot change a decision is an expensive form of reassurance.
Sample quality over sample speed
The fastest recruit is almost always the worst one. We would rather tell you a low-incidence audience needs three weeks than deliver you a room of people who learned your category on the screener.
Findings carry their evidence
Every claim in our reports is traceable to a transcript line, a data table or a coded theme. If we cannot show you where a finding came from, it does not go in the report.
Limitations stated up front
Every study has boundaries — sample size, market coverage, self-report bias. We put them in the report rather than leaving your team to discover them in the boardroom.
The team
Senior people on your study, not just on your pitch.
The researcher who scopes your project is the researcher who moderates it and writes your report. We do not hand studies down to juniors after the contract is signed.
Research Directors
Senior moderators and study designers with category specialisation. They write the guide, run the room and own the analysis — the same person from kick-off to debrief.
Quantitative Analysts
Questionnaire design, sampling, weighting and advanced techniques — conjoint, MaxDiff, segmentation and driver analysis.
Panel & Recruitment Operations
Screener writing, sourcing, verification, scheduling and incentive management, plus the fraud-detection work that keeps the panel clean.
Research Technology
Survey programming, hosting, secure video infrastructure and the live study platform our clients observe from.
